And Yet Another Insurance Resource…
Mar 13th, 2010 by Mary

If you read this blog at all, and I guess you do because you are, you know what a big proponent of comparative shopping I am. I also have life insurance and we have advised our kids to get theirs too, so of course it’s probably to shop around to find the best term life insurance quotes as possible. Here is another site to get quotes and be able to compare them  so that you can find the coverage you need for a price you can afford.

Making Your Couch Potato Happy
Mar 13th, 2010 by Mary

That is if you have one how likes comfort in their choice of modern sofas like I do. I like to relax on my couch as much as the rest but I also like things to look nice. Many a time do I get a call that someone will pop over for a visit and I need to just fluff up the pillows and artfully toss my throw over the sofa’s arm to make it look ready for visitors.

Talk about great looks and a visual invitation to sit down and relax – look at this beautiful corner sofa with a “resting unit.” Now that’s what I’m talking about. Great look, quality and a great place to take a load off. Check it out.

Buy.com Does it Again
Mar 13th, 2010 by Mary

Not everyone knows that buy.com isn’t only for electronic things and of course, that great deal of the day/week but they also have a great selection of toys at great prices. Did you know that buy.com is in a partnership with eToys? Yes, and that’s how you can save 10 and 20% on certain items and there are also items that quality for free shipping.

Now that I have more nieces and nephews (and another one the way this April), I am back in the market for toys. So naturally, I am looking for the best prices just like I do for any other purchases. Buy.com is one of my usual online stops when I am in the market for toys so be sure to check our their prices and compare the total end price with what you can do at buy.com. I bet the prices are pretty much the best you can find.

LG enVtouch
Mar 5th, 2010 by Mary

I watch to see when I can upgrade my phone because I am an electronics junkie and can’t wait to get the next latest and greatest thing. However, I am also cheap and paying an extra $30 or $40 for a Blackberry isn’t for me but…

I did get a great compromise phone and plan. I got an enVtouch from LG and a $9.99 data plan (that I am sure, with taxes included, will be more like $15) that I am pretty happy with right now.

The phone does some amazing things like visual voice mail, reading me texts as they come in, letting me Twitter and Facebook online and my personal favorite – this is so fun – it lets me text to a landline phone and it reads the message when the person picks up. How cool is that? Take that you Blackberry and iPhone people. (I know. They probably have an app for that. Can I live in my delusional world for just a day or two?)

I have an iTouch so the touch screen is wonderful and going to a Querty keyboard is like a woman going from giving birth “naturally” to being able have a spinal instead. (Women will know what I mean. You men, it just means it will be a hell of a lot easier and I won’t swear as much.)

I would recommend getting it online if you are a Verizon customer for the best price. I got soaked as I bought it impulsively at a store and paid twice as much for it. Still am bitter about that one, but don’t you be fooled.

When my girls got a bit older, they asked us about life insurance. My husband used to sell it so they knew he’d have some answers. I found a site that has a very nice set of frequently asked questions (FAQs) about

life insurance and I would tell folks that they’d be able to find the answers to their basic questions there. You can find the page on the top bar about half way across. One question I notice people always have besides, “Should I buy life insurance” is about the different types of policies – life and term insurance. Those are also defined on the site in pretty basic terms. Of course, there is a lot more on the site about life insurance but that’s the page that I thought was pretty helpful.

Comfort for Cool Nights
Mar 5th, 2010 by Mary

If you live in a place that has chilly winters like I do, you will love the website Cozywinters.com. They have heated everythings and not just heated blankets but gloves, socks, towel warmers, battery heated clothing and even heated items for pets.

They also offer no hassle returns, which I like, but orders over $75 get free shipping, which I like even better. When my family went to the Buffalo Bills vs. Colts game in the midst of the worst winter weather, I used a heated stadium cushion seat and it was heaven. They have it at CozyWinters.com.

In the Market for Car Insurance?
Feb 27th, 2010 by Mary

At first I really liked the lady “Flo” on the Progressive Insurance commercials but now I am kind of sick of her. If you are too, then you can try shopping around for free insurance quotes at other places like at carinsurancelist.com. They have an easy little search box and you just type in your zip code to start the search process. They also offer plans from many well known companies like Travelers, Nationwide and GMAC so if you are like me, and you need some trusted names to feel at ease, you have that. I think shopping around for the best price is a smart thing to do for any purchase so here is another resource for you.

Linksys Wireless N Broadband Router
Feb 22nd, 2010 by Mary

I just bought this router last night at Radio Shack. I installed it this morning. My old router, also a Linksys, was starting to cut out all the time so I figured it was time. It owed me nothing as I have had it for about 5 years.
I have to say the installation, which I was very worried about, was a breeze. I bought the N series because when my cable carrier decides to kick it up a notch, I will be ready.

This thing looks like a little spaceship and it has no antennae.  The old one had, but the signal strength is actually stronger. I had been having some issues in certain places in the house, but not anymore.

The software that comes with it walks you through every step of the installation and it has some neat features after you connect. You can “map” out all the computers or devices (my iTouch) on your computer and see who’s on the network. I paid a little more for this router but at this point, due to the ease of installation, signal strength and ability to handle more speed when the future brings it on, I like my purchase. And my daughter had a $15 off coupon from her Entertainment book so that made it even sweeter.

Dark Eye Circles?
Feb 22nd, 2010 by Mary

I love to shop for new products that promise younger looking skin, smaller pores and brighter eyes, especially cures for having dark under eye circles. Yes, I have them. I use all kinds of creams and am constantly looking for the answer for how to remove dark circles under eyes.

I can easily spend 15 minutes reading the labels on products at the drug store or at Marshall’s where I buy last year’s products at reduced prices, but sometimes I shop online. This site has a product that I just finished up the jar – Prevera. It smelled great. It was supposed to be a good one and I liked it but since I have nice skin, it’s hard to tell if it did anything or not. I like to think my skin is nice because I have used such products (lots of them, all different kinds) over the past 15 years. Well, if you are in the mood to look around, the link above will give you a place to look over.

And Yet Another…
Feb 22nd, 2010 by Mary

And yes, my continuous quest also entails the search for a new and/or successful diet supplement. I am currently trying an all natural product, Lipovox. It is supposed to make your skin look great as it is full of antioxidents and good stuff for your body, with a side benefit of weight loss. We shall see.

I am a proponent of natural products and I often check out sites for new products, and found this site that gives you  a list of the top products. It has the Jillian Michael’s products that are all natural ingredients, similar to the ingredients of what I mentioned that I am trying now. Something to check out. They also give links to the websites to purchase products too.
